A mum of two girls, that’s been on a little journey.
Once upon a time, I was a Grad Architect. Aspirations to be the career woman, that designed epic homes but a year in the industry - with a little one in care - I had a deeeeep feeling of discontentment.
It was around the same time I was starting solids with little C, and as a foodie myself, I wanted to really be sure to create a love for food! I had heard from soo many people that ‘kids are just fussy… good luck!’ And so, feeling determined, I did a deep dive into child nutrition and alas, found a whole new passion.
I didn’t want my girls to have the same battle as I did, with food.
Truthfully, I’d never had a great relationship with food. We always enjoyed home cooked meals (thank you mum), but food was also often used as a reward, as comfort and we always had to finish the plate…
Fast forward into teenage years, and I was a severe binge eater with absolutely no self awareness, and it came with it’s own battles. I’ve been vegan & vegetarian, I’ve calorie counted and I tried Keto. Never once, though, did I tune into how the food I ate made me FEEL - and honestly, it took me a really long time to figure it out.
I’m determined to teach my two girls the joy that is food! Make it a positive experience, to give them the skills to learn how to enjoy it, listen to their bodies and most of all, have a positive relationship with simply eating nutritious and wholesome foods.
I could go on & on about this… but I’ll hush for now. Feeding and nourishing woman and little babies & toddlers is undoubtedly my passion and I felt so deeply called to share this with other mothers and carers. Hence why Nourished Bites was born.
Our relationship with food starts at infancy. Intuitive and mindful eating, a love for nourishing foods (because it’s up to us what our children get fed and have exposure to) and more than anything, building a solid foundation of health for our children.
It’s our most important job & no, toddlers are not inherently ‘fussy’. Work with me, and let me show you how.
Our kids, and YOU mama, are worth the investment!
